I have worked for the last 20 years as a Family Lawyer, predominantly in the North West of Tasmania, so I may soon be considered a local! I thrive on assisting people during or following separation in the division of their property, resolving disputes and to help them achieve the best possible arrangements for matters concerning their children.
Having worked in this practice area for so long, I have significant advocacy experience in a range of Family law matters involving property settlements, arrangements for children, child safety, child support and divorce for both private clients and those who were legally aided. I am a nationally accredited arbitrator and mediator, and I appreciate the benefits offered to participants of informal dispute resolution processes.
I value contributing to the profession and the community and some of the organisations and committees I have been involved in over the last two decades are:
-
Committee member and Treasurer for the North West Community Legal Centre;
-
Committee member for the Family Law Practitioner Association of Tasmania;
-
Council member of the Tasmanian Law Society
-
Committee member of the Family Law Committee of the Law Society;
-
Committee member of Continuing Professional Development Committee of the Law Society;
-
Chair and committee member of the Forth Primary School Association;
-
Secretary, volunteer coordinator and member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation (Devonport Branch).
I spend my time away from the office, cooking and trail running (to balance out the eating of all the cooking) debating what are weeds and what are plants in the ever out of control garden, being dictated to by my oodles and drinking coffee.
