For more than twenty years, I have practised exclusively in family & relationships law, advising clients in complex financial, parenting and child support matters. My career has spanned Australia and overseas, including more than a decade with specialist family law firms in Melbourne, London and the offshore jurisdiction of Jersey in the Channel Islands. I returned to Tasmania and Dobson Mitchell Allport in 2018, bringing an international perspective and dual qualifications as a barrister and solicitor in Tasmania and a solicitor of England and Wales. This experience underpins my particular interest in cross-border family law issues, including international relocation and jurisdictional disputes.
I take a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach grounded in Collaborative Practice principles. I am committed to resolving disputes with professionalism and care, helping clients achieve durable and commercially sound outcomes through both negotiation and, if necessary, litigation.
As a Nationally Accredited Mediator, I regularly chair mediations in both financial and parenting matters. I also represent Tasmania on the National Board of the Australian Institute of Family Law Mediators and Arbitrators (AIFLAM).
I am recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Family Lawyer in Tasmania and a Recommended Family Law Mediator.
Outside of work, I’m a proud father of two energetic children and enjoy running and planning our family’s next travel adventure.
