Darren Sheen is an associate in our commercial team. His practice focuses on commercial and financial dealings and transactions.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Darren spent over twenty years working as an accountant in both private practice and the financial services industry. He uses this experience to provide practical solutions and advice to high net wealth individuals, businesses, government and not-for-profits. Darren also specialises in taxation and advises clients in respect of both Commonwealth and Tasmanian revenue laws and assists in disputes with the relevant authorities. He also advises on governance and the drafting of governance documents, in particular for not-for-profit organisations.
Darren is chairperson and a State Councillor with The Tax Institute and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He holds a Masters of Tax from the University of Melbourne as well as post graduate qualifications in finance. Darren has conducted regular presentations on taxation matters in the State, including to major accounting bodies and for The Tax Institute.
