I advise commercial and individual clients across a range of disputes, with a particular focus on employment law and civil litigation. I work with both employers and employees on matters including termination of employment, workplace disputes, contract and commercial issues, and debt recovery.
I also support organisations with the preparation and review of employment contracts and workplace policies, helping ensure their documentation is clear, compliant and fit for purpose.
I am known for a frank and personable communication style. I aim to be ready to act when needed and to give clients clarity not only about the legal issues, but also about the process and likely costs involved.
I have a strong interest in advocacy and regularly appear for clients in state and federal courts, commissions and tribunals. I have also assisted Senior Counsel in the Supreme Court of Tasmania and enjoy my role as instructing solicitor. Where appropriate, I work with clients to resolve disputes through negotiation and mediation.
Before joining Dobson Mitchell Allport, I gained experience tutoring university students, working in State Government, the not-for-profit legal sector and private practice in Tasmania.
Outside of work, I enjoy the creative arts, music, spending time in my local community and time with my young family.
