The Federal Government has announced a new Aged Care Industry Labour Agreement to assist with recruitment and retention of direct care workers in the aged care workforce.
The new Aged Care Labour Agreement allows for employers to sponsor workers in three occupations which were previously ineligible under the temporary (TSS) or permanent (ENS) visa programs.
These occupations are:
- Aged or Disabled Carer
- Nursing Support Worker
- Personal Care Assistant
In addition to these new occupation options, the Labour Agreement provides concessions for various criteria including English language, work experience and market salary rate. The Labour Agreement also offers an accelerated two year permanent residency pathway.
To access the new Labour Agreement, employers must first enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with a relevant industry union – either the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, Health Services Union or United Workers Union.
The new Labour Agreement is available now, and applications will be prioritised for processing.
We invite you to contact our migration team for further information or assistance to access the new Aged Care Labour Agreement.
